FIRST TIMER SEEKS ADVICE

hello,
this is my first time of doing this and i need a little help with a couple of things.

1) what nutrients should i use on my babies? Presently they are 4 weeks from when i put the seed in the rockwell (now in soil) and are all different sizes. i am thinking of getting 'Dr. Hornby's Big Bud Powder' -from advanced nutrients- for the flowering period. any good? At moment i am using 'baby bio' which is something the guy in my local garden centre sold me for young plants. Is this any good or should i get a better nutrient for the veg stage? NOTE: i live in england so the brand-names are most likely different to in the USA!

2) i read on this site somewhere that a plant will double in height during the 12/12 cycle, is this true? Cause i was thinking of growing mine to about 14-16 inches and then putting them on 12/12 but if they are going to double in size afterwards i wont grow them so tall before i start them budding.

here are some pictures of my first attempts, now i made some mistakes (not enough light at start, undecided what to grow in) and they got a bit stretched. 5 out if the 7 are fine now, but 2 are crap, going to keep them growing though just for the hell of it. Please tell me what you think!!

As for brands of ferts, I don't know, but I can tell you what numbers you need to succeed

First, during the vegetative stage, the plants need something high in N (N-P-K). I use an organic fert for veg. as I feel it is a very important stage to a good harvest. I use 5-1-1 Fish Emulsion. Something very light for first feedings.

For flowering, you need something high in P. I use 15-30-15 during flowering, and during the last 4 weeks or so, I give it a bud swell fert that is 10-51-10.

Anything from Advanced Nutes is great, amazing fert.

And yes, a plant will double in size by the time it's done flowering...some triple in size. During the first 2-3 weeks of flowering, the plants tops stretch big time for the incoming buds.

cheers for that. umm forgot something: the humidity in my growroom is always between 20-30% is this too low?? If so how on earth do i get it up to a better level without going crazy with a hose?

ahhh yes should of thought of that really. But is it really nessisary? my plants look fine and are growing well, will higher humidity really make much difference and as i understand it, the lower the humidity during flowering the better? or am i talking out me ass here.

ok guys: how safe is it to post on this site? Im a little worried that some of these threads might cause me to get busted! now i see a lot of people put disclaimers on their threads. Does that actually make a difference legally in the off-chance the police come surfing? I really dont want to get busted (no-brainer that one) as im doing this to avoid the illegal drugs trade as where i come from all the dealers are shit and i am fed up of paying lots of money for small amounts of not that great weed! Also i want to keep posting with my progress as fair play this is a fun hobby!! I probably will fuck it up at some point too so im going to need expert advice somewhere along the line!!!!

As to the humidity levels, you should use the search on these forums, or check out some FAQs... I trully don't know. I'm newbing my way through this too.

As to you security concerns:
Forget about the disclaimers.... I mean, you have a disclaimer of how you grow tomato plants on your 4th wife's summer vacation home, but you post pictures of cannabis plants? C'mon! They're stupid, but not that... ok...

Anyways, those are my thoughts on the subject.
I'll post the link of a good-read thread over @ OverGrow.com, it was about your pictures, and the law, and how they couldn't use them pictures if you don't "declare" that they're yours. ??? Interesting...

Anyways, as to getting busted, I look at it this way:
If you post your name and address, it'll be so easy to pass along the information to local law enforcement that they'll bust you down....

But if you don't post information, they need to start investing time and energy on finding out who you are... and where. Thus, I see it as kind of a deterrent.

Third of my opinions: What are you growing? 10 plants in a closet? 15 plants in a room? Hmm... I think they'd be going for big MoFo grows... like 150 plants are some shit like that. Or people asking how they can connect a 45,000 kW diesel generator to their 40 grow lights.

plants growing like nutters now, which is nice.

Hey m8...
Looks like you are off to a great start..and have already been given some good advice...

The stretch you will get is due to a couple factors..one is heat..the other is amount of light...
If you keep things cool enough the plants will not stretch..in that case the plants attempt to space out to allow air flow between the branches..
And if you give em lots of light they will remain a fair size...mine were flipped to 12/12 at about 10 inches..and they are now in wk 6 of flower and have not quite doubled in height..but they are heavy with bud and as you can see there is no stretching..that's because I keep em in a space about 2ft by 4ft..and give em 600 watts of HPS light!
As you can see I am also a user of Advance nutes..or rather..I selectively invest my money with them..
I use their flower enhancers (bud blood..big bud powder..liquid overdrive) but I use cheaper stuff for my base nutes because I am happy with the results I get..
I have a post in the advanced section here outlining products that I use..from start to finish..have a look and if you wanna try it I guarantee you will get better results than if you just buy a couple bottles of this and that..
It's not just about what you give em..but also when..
I have been growing Serious seeds Chronic and White Russian and have to say I am OVERJOYED with the WR...
The Chronic has been good..but not as good as the WR so I am going to grow JUST WR next time around in my home garden (I have 3 gardens I have franchised out to new gardeners..I give them materials..plants..and advice and they give me 1/3rd of each crop and we split the honey oil and baked goods produced with the stuff that isn't suitable for smoking)..
Remember this m8..if you go cheap you will lose on the scale at the end..so think of it as an investment..the more you invest the better your results will be...
