in the meantime, download the free version of Ewido anti-malware from www.ewido.net .

also, go to www.free-av.com and get the free version of antivir. when you install it, make sure automatic protection is clicked off so it doesn't conflict with other programs.

then, go to www.lavasoft.com and download the free version of Adaware SE.

then go to the following address www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/ and get the free version of A sqaured.

make sure you update all of these before scanning. so long as you follow the above instructions, you shouldn't have any trouble with conflicting programs.
    thanx for the links mrdevious

Yeah i second that. I used to have norton, but when the subscription ran out it stopped working and i got viruses! it didnt just stop me updating it it completely stopped working. Anyway after sorting my PC out i installed AVG, which found and deleted the viruses and now its all good, and best of all its free! but you do need to get some additional anti-spyware programs to go with it because the free version doesnt have it all.

most of the time what happens is, a virus hijacks your anti virus so it won't notice it... Most of the time uninstalling and shutting down then starting up with the boot cd of your anti virus software already in and boot from cd, that way it won't hijack the program again, and your program will prolly fing it, if not... sorry about the delayed response. now, since you posted 2 pics (of either half of the report I assume) I couldn't just paste from the log, so I had to count down on the list. so, if the one you should click is the 4 box down for instance, I'll say number "4", and so on.

also, I forgot to mention you should disable system restore, otherwise it may back up and restore viruses upon next restart. to do this: START>right click MY COMPUTER>PROPERTIES>SYSTEM RESTORE tab> DISABLE SYSTEM RESTORE box> APPLY.

now, the boxes you should click and press "fix checked" are:

    Pic 1:

    4
    5
    7
    8
    15
    18
    20

    Pic 2:

    3
    6
    8
    11
    14
    20

now, after that run the following online scans

    http://www.trendmicro.com/hc_intro/default.asp

    www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/activescan.

both take a while, but are very much worth it. also, trend micro has a 30 day trial excellent anti-spyware program. you can get it off www.trendmicro.com
