    Gen's grow

Okay, my desperation is over. The seeds arrived and it only took a little over a month to get them. I am not real long on patience. They are white widow cause I thought the name sounded really cool. They were $$$$ (at least for me) $87.50 for 10 seeds. Yeoh!!

I'm growing in a rubbermaid 33 gallon box. I will take them outside for light therapy during the day. At night they get fluoro. Light 24/7. I started two, incase I killed them off. They sprouted in 24 hours. I planted them after a couple of days. I just planted the other 8. Heck live dangerously. I am in short supply of mj. So I need to get some fast. Here are my pics. Fingers crossed.

I'm starting them in dirt. Then I will switch to hydro once they put on a few leaves.

    Hey Gen!
Congrats on getting your seeds !!!
Please keep this updated, as we're very interested on the outcome.

I'm growing White Widow my self... believe it or not, because the name sounded cool !!! I know there's a couple of you growers out there thinking ("This two retarded newbs... picking strains based on their names"), but, oh well...

    Peace Gen,

Hi, Gen I don't want to be bad news but for hydro you don't want to start in dirt. I saw this discussed just a week ago or so. Dirt roots are dif from hydro roots. You should start in peat cups so you can wash the peat off when you put them in the hydro. Or use 1 inch rockwool starter cubes. I don't know how dif but there are bacteria and things in dirt you don't want in your hydro. My brother had dirt in the tron and I didn't clean it out before I turned it into a bubbler and I was getting this slime on the roots. Just a heads up. Maybe some one could shed a little light on it for us.

Use 1 or 2 inch rockwoll cubes not dirt.
The roots grow way differant in soil without soil they grow like a bunch of perfect secondary roots of each tap root. It's like a grid of roots if you were to lay them out.Soil is much more speratic.

If you only plan on using the hydro system for flowering...my advice is to veg in dirt and take cuttings . Then you can root your clones in rockwool cubes and flower the clones in hydro...But having 2 hydro rooms is best...1 for veg, 1 for bloom!

    Goood luck though

Turtle, great minds (nubies) think alike.

Hey guys, I did the veggie experiments. I took stuff growing in dirt and transfered to hydro with no problems. I'll be doing dirt and hydro. I would like to do all hydro. Since I won't have enough room indoors to grow 10 seeds out I'll have to grow some outside too. I'm thinking I need a greenhouse now with smoked lexan to keep snooping neighbors out.

The plant with the white top, has a brown spot inside the seed coat. Doesn't look good.

Loc the slime you got from your brothers grow has to do with not enough beneficial bacteria in the system.

Thanks I am cleaning it to try a drip, bubbler together. If you have done it before use what works best for you. No the one does not look good. Maybe but you can't always get 100%. How's the rest ?
