Here in SF we have many houseless people. You see it all, eventually.
I usually give money to older people who have no chance in hell of ever having a job or anything else. Lots of mental illness on the streets.
I have a few friends and we play music on the wharf once in a while and probably end up giving away 100.00$ or more of what we earned playing for the tourist on any given day. Lots of very needy people out here.
If i give cash to younger people it's usually run away kids. I see my grand daughter in every single one of them.
