Actually, the rapist got something like 6 years, it became public because the judge was feeling so bad about the stupidity of the sentencing guidelines he was forced to adhere to. (i think he might even have retired after that one) Seems the weed guy was carrying a gun when he sold a small amount (think it was an ounce) to a fed. It was the gun that did him in since the penalties are quite a bit harsher if you sell when armed.

It's not the "lefties" or "righties" that are the problem, it's the extremists who are not willing to give and inch. Keep in mind that the lefties are the ones, for the most part, trying to eliminate the draconian, dictatorial drug laws and protecting our civil rights for the most part. Yes, some folks in the ACLU are morons and they need to pick their cases better but someone has to keep the psychotic right wing holy rollers from sticking their noses in to our bedrooms (more than one conservative has questioned a right to birth control as not being explicitly laid out in the constitution) and business whenever they want to. What was it Ben Franklin said..if you are willing to trade security for freedom you don't deserve either one..or something like that. Point being, if all of the extremists would shut the fuck up and leave people alone, we'd all be a lot better off.

Clinton esculated the spending on the war on drugs by a higher percentage than the right wingers ever have. Had to like that dude though, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman!" CLASSIC!!!
