Marijuana is a drug that comes from a plant called Cannabis.
Whether legal or illegal marijuana prevails in society. No one has ever died of marijuana overdose. If marijuana is legalized we reduce the black market and the violence associated with the sales of marijuana.

3. Every year over 750,000 people get arrested for the violation of marijuana laws. These people must serve years behind bars for doing something that is no worse for the body then smoking a cigarette. If a person is arrested 3 times with marijuana they can serve life.

4. The legal effort to put marijuana users in jail costs America tax payers $7.6 billion dollars. If marijuana was made legal Americanâ??s tax dollars could go to spending money on different causes rather then spending billions of dollars jailing marijuana users and the government could make billions of dollars taxing marijuana sales and use the income to lower our nationâ??s debt.
5. In 1972 after reviewing the scientific evidence, the National Commission on Marihuana and Drug Abuse concluded that while marijuana was not entirely safe, its dangers had been grossly overstated. Since then, researchers have conducted thousands of studies of humans, animals, and cell cultures. None reveal any findings dramatically different from those described by the National Commission in 1972.

Marijuana is not as bad for lungs as cigarettes because when a person smokes a cigarette there lungs get smaller keeping the toxins inside of the cigarette smoker, but when a person smokes marijuana there lungs expand allowing for the marijuana smoker to release any toxins by coughing.

1A. Science notes that of the over 800 volatile chemicals present in roasted COFFEE, only 21 have actually been tested on animals and 16 of these cause cancer in rodents. Yet, coffee remains legal and is generally considered fairly safe.

2A Marijuana is more potent today than in the past
This myth is the result of bad data. The researchers who made the claim of increased potency used as their baseline the THC content of marijuana seized by police in the early 1970s. Poor storage of this marijuana in un-air conditioned evidence rooms caused it to deteriorate and decline in potency before any chemical assay was performed. Contemporaneous, independent assays of unseized "street" marijuana from the early 1970s showed a potency equivalent to that of modern "street" marijuana. Actually, the most potent form of this drug that was generally available was sold legally in the 1920s and 1930s by the pharmaceutical company Smith-Klein under the name, "American Cannabis".

3A. Marijuana impairs short-term memory
This is true but misleading. Any impairment of short-term memory disappears when one is no longer under the influence of marijuana. Often, the short-term memory effect is paired with a reference to Dr. Heath's poor rhesus monkeys to imply that the condition is permanent.

I did not say I knew nothing, I just wanted to know some different strains of marijuana. I know a few, but now I know a lot more.
