I agree with beachguy. if your daughter's into the idea, get her a big pretty cinderella dress. or whatever sort of nice, not whorish formal dress she can be proud of.
I never went to my proms either...no date and no money(probably spent on weed) And because I was too cool to waste my time on some damned dance. On the other hand, might have been fun. Besides...far too white and Irish to be dancing. And if my baby wants to go to the prom...she will.
(and like most fathers, I am in comlete denial about the whole rite of passage thing with the kegs and the motels and the skirts over the head in the back of the toyota...surely not my daughter )
