I agree about the openness. My kids have been pretty open about that stuff with me and the spousal unit. And we have been open with them about our views, values and expectations of them. So far it's been a pretty good run, no one arrested, (ok, one of the sons "forgot" to pay a ticket and went in to pay it one day late, same day the bench warrant was to go in to effect, got a bit lippy with the judge who could have let him pay and leave but slapped his ass in the clink for the day,...and yes we bailed his ass out).

My advice to you as a 14yr old, hold her hair when she pukes but don't bang her unless she's sober and willing or you'd better hope the cops find you before her big brothers do.

Come on now, it can't be much different than what some of your mothers were doing 20-25 years ago......we had much bigger cars back then!

If my daddy knew half the shit I do/did/will do..oh man...
He'd off himself.
I don't think parents really WANT to know what happens behind their backs, vs. that they actually DON'T know.
Honestly though, it doesn't matter how "supportive" you are of your child, they still won't come to you for everything. My mom and I are best friends but I don't think I'll ever tell her that like, I was just banging my boyfriend and smoking a blunt while she was in the next room. Kids DO want to save their parent's sanity for the most part.
My god do I love to ramble.

He's just in denial! Hell, my Prom night me and my "innocent" lil' date smoked a couple of joints in the parking lot then I got my pre-dance hummer. Afterwords was off to the hotel with a couple of bottles of wine, half bag of weed, and "ding ding" fuck fest 1980 began!! So what's new????

And we are grateful for that hon. (the saving of sanity and the rambling) But never forget, parents who pay attention always always know more about you than you give us credit for. We have our networks.
