power usage

hey all,
i have a 400 watt light and im wondering how much electric it uses? now im not very good with technical terms so can i have an answer i might understand like: 'it uses the same as 3 tv's or 2 fridges.' hope that makes sense.

This might be even easier for ya. A 400 watt HPS added under $20 to my light bill. Well, that, and a couple fans and a few small wattage items.
