I've decided to quit smoking weed.

I can feel myself getting stupider, and that's just not cool. I also need to conserve my funds. It's also become a lot less fun.

I bought an ounce on Friday before I decided to do this. I'll throw it in mason jar, and then, rather than smoking as my hobby, I'll only do it to enhance already great experience. Like when I go snowboarding here pretty soon. Basically, I'll only smoke when I believe it will be amazing enough to be memorable.

None of this 'well I'll get high first, because then dinner will taste better." Done with that.

Any tips for quitting? I have "addictive personality."

don't hang out with friends that smoke all the time, and get very busy. once i started college i hardly had time to smoke anymore so i cut way back by default. get some hobbies or something you can do so you're not just bored.

ya, staying busy is the best tip. keep your mind off it. i am quiting too, temporarly..physical constrants.. i just try not to think about it and stay busy, keep working on something, and stay away from your stoner buddies, itl be hard to quit with someone smoking around you. i know.

When you hit a stage in your life like you have. You ask yourself a question, what am I smoking for? Alot of the times people get stumped, others just shrug it off and say to get high. I was using it as a pain killer for my bad back, and as a way to cure night terrors(nightmares), thus helping with insomnea. Now I have no trouble sleeping and I'm perfectly fine.

    You either:
    Have ailments in your body/mind.
    Just wanna get high.
Do it for the fuck of it (at parties while drinking, and such)
To try and make something extra fun. (Much like the way you plan to use it.)

I like the idea of using it so you'll remember something as "remember that time we got so ripped and...". It also helps give your lungs a rest (if smoker). Mind a rest, as well as make it more potent. I'm an avid fan of taking a break from weed.

Man, I get the same shit when I don't smoke, I can't sleep, and get these really fucked up dreams. When I smoke I don't dream, so I usually smoke.

Yeah, I also use it as the only effective medication to insomnia I've found. Which is why I'm online at 2:36 on a school night.

There isn't anything wrong with smoking to get high or for a hanging out with friends or making something out of just sitting around playing Nintendo. As long as you don't disconnect yourself from sobriety permenently... breaks are needed if you're to be smoking weeks on end. Like me, I don't smoke everyday so I've never felt the need to quit. Except recently because of school... I've made the decision that school is more importent then being stoned and I've decided that I'm going to take a break. I don't smoke at school but smoking before school (wake and bake) and smoking when you have other and more importent shit to do, is against my new... "Rules", I guess. I'm still toking just not before school, during school, after school until I get my homework done (from school and chores and errends and stuff).

So yeah, if you want to avoid burning out, I'd recommend simply setting some boundries and sticking to them.

Doesn't really work for me. I can't think nearly as clearly if I've smoked a few times in the fast few days. Maybe it isn't the same for everybody, but like I said, I can truly feel myself getting dumber when I do that.

i cant think right when i am sober.. i mess things up, i cant get shit done, have trouble sleeping... or even staying sane.. i never knew what breaks were... i never missed a day getting high in the past 4 years atleast, and I am 18. (Except once... about a year and a half ago.. I went an entire month without smoking, its some hard stuff.)

It is all about staying entertained, getting the thought out of your head, forgetting...

BTW, i smoke for the high.. it feels good, slows down life a bit so i can get ahold of shit. i am quiting due to phyisical problems, possibly a pinched nerve.. or slipped disk, wont know tell next week for sure, but now when I get high I feel alot of pain..

I wish you good luck.. although it is mostly perservesnce. for me anyhow..
