They don't. Everything that gets pulled in still interacts with the outside Universe though gravity. If it wasn't then that wouldn't happen. All the energy is still there, just inside a singulairity (A point with infinate surface gravity.)

I don't know where you get the idea science is an atheistic idea. Science was helped out greatly by many christian scientists who used the same method Oneironaut has discribed. Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, Boyle, Faraday and hundreds of others who all thougt in a simular way but involved God.


Every religion before any mainstream today was a way of explaining the unexplained, all are considered myths or fairy tails. sharpezor, what makes you think Christianity is any diffrent? I'm sure they all had faith in theirs as well and even killed over it, just like today.

Lets not forget that Galileo was put under house arrest and branded a heathen for preaching copurnican theories, and basically convincing himself and other that the idea of a god was just foolish, which is a pretty valid thing.

I can honestly say that this messageboard has more hostile and angry posters than any i've ever read, which is odd considering it's focus is around a plant that makes people relax and look for common ground. Then again, I guess religion subverts all of these aspects, people don't like to be told their religious beliefs are wrong, look at radical muslims, christian crusades, etc. Just chill and have some respect for other's beliefs, it's not the same as agreeing.

Yea, they fucked things up pretty badly. We could have been much further technologically today if it wasn't for religous conservitism. If more people were more open to new ideas the world would be a much better place.
