Why don't you not call people names and read his post. He said MAYBE. Key word.. MAYBE! He was just thinking about it, just an idea he was tossing around in the ol' noodle. Not warning anyone or preaching or anything. Just chill.

Hahaha. *mocking an unnamed person* "3 sheets to the wind... why did you post that? It's pointless. You're retarded..."

Well, the tip is made of a metal compound that heats and cools rapidly. During the on cycle its as hot as any soldering tool, the trade off is that you have less working time per cycle. The on cycle is shorter so as not to get hot enough that the other parts get heat transfer. It cools 3 times faster than traditional tools, giving the impression that it is instantly cold. Nope, it is just able to be touched sooner beacuse the metal cools rapidly. If you touch it during the on cycle your gonna burn yourself same as with traditional guns/pencils.

I finally checked a review:
"Some of the advertising shows people touching the tip immediately after a soldering operation. In reality it does cool quickly, but not exactly instantly. If you've had the iron hot for a couple of minutes while soldering wires or trying to desolder a medium or large sized component, don't touch the tip immediately. It will still be very hot depending on how long you've been powering the unit. Power and heat are power and heat even though the tip does cool incredibly fast compared to traditional soldering guns or irons."
