Think about it if it lost potency in a mere month , an entire crop would have to be smoked right away
dude, Ive cured as long as a year
it gets smoother, tastier and stronger with proper curing.

Funky is right. Like another poster I use film containers (multiple). It does get better in there, providing it still has a little moisture I find that the flavor often gets more fruity from hanging out in its own gases. I lost one during my last move and when I found it the city was bare so I was in luck. It was in there for about 2 months or so and it did dry a little (they are not that air tight) but it did not degrade :stoned:

This is true, I have the remnants of an oz that I bought over a month ago in the bottom of my weedbox for days when im out of bud. Every time I smoke it it seems to have gotten better.

Yep, storage is the key. Whenever I get my hands on a really good strain I save some for later. I vacuum seal it to keep it fresh. Right now I've got some Blueberry and Purple Kush that are at least a year old and they're still as good as the day I bought them.

Light, I guess, is the biggest potency detractor.

Stability of cannabinoids in dried samples of cannabis dating from around 1896-1905 Harvey DJ
J Ethnopharmacol 1990 Feb;28(1):117-28
Abstract:
Cannabinoids from three samples of cannabis obtained from the Pitt-Rivers Museum, Oxford, and dating from the turn of the century were examined by gas chromatography and mass spectometry for the presence of cannabinoids. Although the samples were from different geographical locations, the profiles of constituent cannabinoids were similar. In common with other aged material, most of the cannabinoid content was present as cannabinol (CBN), the main chemical degradation product of the major psychoactive constituent, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9-THC).
