I could have gone down to Ladbrokes and put a bet on this thread ending up in a Microsoft/Sony debate.

I bought my PS2 in 2001, by 2003 it started getting disk read errors, but last year it completely packed up. I was told to increase the DVD laser voltage, so I went on a tech forum and asked them what to do. Take the laser apart and turn the little screw gently. So I did, in fact I whacked the screw 90° and when I told them they almost passed out! I concluded from their reaction that I'd overdone it. Turned it back a bit but the screw dropped off and disappeared down the console. Bought a new Slimline though! Shame as I had some great moments with that console. Gran Turismo 3 100% completion! :thumbsup:

I wouldn't say the Xbox itself has better graphics. At the end of the day its up to the game developers, but every Xbox game I've tried out doesn't have good graphics. Oh well graphics alone never made a good game. Surprisingly San Andreas looks much better on the PS2 than the Xbox.

well actually fabolous the xbox 360 has 3 cores running @3.2ghz and each core can run 2 threads each for a total of 6, and the ps3 has the cell processor which runs @3.2ghz as well as 7 attached cores which also run @3.2ghz, so spec wise the ps3 has a slightly more powerful processor but a games must be programed to take atvantage of this. im betting there going to perform about the same

ps2 always had better games than xbox, i had both and played them both to death, played juiced for both and i gotta say xbox graphics were better, but this is not the case for all cross-genre games, but overall loved my ps2 better along with FF X which IS the best game of all time.

and i read the other day that now the ps3 is going to be 2x as powerful as the 360, 15x more powerful than the nintendo revolution, and 35x more powerful than the ps2....
so its probly going to cost a fair amount when it first come out.....but as always the prices will drop significantly aftera couple of months/year

You could not be more wrong... PS3 is going to have twice the power of XBOX 360, look it upits 2:1 in how many TPS it can produce,a nd ps3 can do more TPS than any computer build right now.
