One of my alltime favs has to be Steve Reich's "Come Out." Listen to it and you will see 'music' in an entirely new light.
Also like Boards of Canada (can be VERY trippy if you're hearing it for the first time - anything from their Music Has the Right to Children album), Bob Dylan never fails. I once heard a live, concert recording of the Doors while I was sitting in a theater before the movie started and that was awesome as well.
If you really want to blow your mind though, download "Come Out" (about 14 mins, give or take), and don't listen to it until you're stoned. Place the stereo on the other side of the room, facing... not right at you or right away from you - because, as small as it is, the effect of the music bouncing off the walls can be REALLY trippy (but you don't want echoes - ie. don't do it in a church or something).
But you're right, scb037, as long as its good music you can't go wrong. Sorry for writing so long, but Reich is a goldmine that too few have discovered - really mind-expanding (his Music For 18 Musicians is excellent as well).
Also, as a side note, watch the movie Amadeus sometime (the Milos Foreman film). Not only is the film incredibly awesome and trippy in itself, but the music in it is... well Mozart so you can't go wrong. Also, I've never experienced anything that blends music and film so well.

Another side note, if you're gonna get anything out of Reich you can't be in a hurry to listen to it (but who's in a hurry when you're stoned?). Sometimes you have to work to let the music take you, but you won't regret it.

I love listening to happy hardcore, trance and mabye some drum and bass when im intoxicated. i love the happy hardcore! i HATE ICP and KMK, classical is good,
Bob Marley is always good, even sober if im slightly stressed bob will make it all good
