    Connecticut legalization

So I often read about how this state has legalized Marijuana for medicinal
purposes, and that state legalized for the same thing. Not very often am I
hearing anything about legalizing for the consumption by adults or for
    recreational purposes.

I understand 1 step at a time, and you can call me selfish, but none of this
does me any good whatsoever. I want to be able to simply grow my own pot
legally. I am sick and tired of having to follow other people's rules. Why
should I forever be someone who has to follow these stupid ass rules
because some people don't want other people smoking pot.

If you don't want to then don't fucking do it. Just because I don't like
sticking barbed wire in my ass doesn't mean I'm going to make a law ensuring
others won't either. What they do is their business.

The reason for my post? What steps can some of us Connecticut residents
take to legalize marijuana for recreational purposes? I've sent a bunch of
letters to important people throughout the years, and unfortunately I'm still in
the same boat. What are our options and what should we start doing?

It's a good idea to start up a NORML chapter up there. I searched for an existing one in CT but I didnt find any

Of course it takes a lot of motivation and such to start a chapter. NORML themselves may assist you.

Try guerilla advertising. Flyers at kinkos, a few bottles of spray paint. Fun.
And hey, while youre outside, plant some seeds maybe.

Vote and inform people . Vote those out of office who dont represent your beliefs. Now, until we can make sure that no responsible adult cannabis user is arrested(and we can make it happen), lets make sure that we support the medicinal use of it as well. You may want to think about getting your own prescription until that happens. There's nothing wrong with covering your ass when a corrupt government is trying to cage you.
Thanks for the post and thanks for being mad as hell. It tells me that you are paying attention.

I have called Governor Rells office on the issue along with the Congress for are state. The governors office told me to start calling the legislator as they make the laws. If you can initiate email contact with them we can reeducate them with the latest studies which say cannabis only increases brain function. I have yet to get there contacts. I have been calling the DEA headquarters and congress with my free time. The DEA usually threatens me, puts me on endless holds, or hangs up on me. I have been speaking with a pharacalogist there who is supposed to be sending me emails of studies the DEA is useing to defend why cannabis should be illegal. I record most of my calls and it is rediculus how they act. Its like trying to teach kindergarden everytime I call. They refuse to return any of my messages. We will see what they got, eventually. One day I was so frustrated with them threatening me and hanging up on me I called the White House switchboard to see what was going on at the DEA. They told me the justice department is above them. I called the justice department and they transfered me to the DEA headquarters so that there number was on the caller id when I called. That day I have about an hour of recordings for. I would put them on the web some where but I dont know where or how I could put them up.

    One love
