ive tried so hard with my parents but they wont even read the shit i shove in their face. Ive had so many arguments with my mom but she thinks that every fact I tell her is a lie from one of my friends.. my parents are basically dumbfucks and are too stubborn to change their minds. My dad doesnt seem to care too much but will yell at me if my mom tells him to. He said if it was legal he would "go to the store and buy yas a twelve pack of reefer" (lol) but since it is illegal he wont tolerate it. Anyone got any ideas how I can get them to see the light...cuz my parents are always so paranoid that im gonna overdose on weed even though you cant. My mom is one of those people that thinks people die from weed, become retarded and she thinks i will get caught by the police (which i wont)

My moms 67... never smoked anything her entire life...until you had colon cancer and they removed 2 ft of her colon and she went through Kemo....I introduced her to my volcano and thats the only thing that helped her keep her food down or even have a appetite.

Her thoughts about getting high with indica.... it made her head feel hollow/empty like nothing was in there

My mother is a baby boomer hippie, but never enjoyed marijuana believe it or not. Was a little to laid back when I was a teenager, let me grow in the garden outback in Highschool. Eventually someone snitched and I went to state jail for 21 months when I was 18 years old.

My Mother caught me smoking (1968) and we had the big argument. I was over 18 and getting married in about a month, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Even so, my mother tried cannabis for the first time the day I got married. She dabbled with it a few more times.

Unfortunately, it didn't "take"- she said it got her "mildly tranquilized" and she kept on drinking. She suicided years later, due to her body giving out from the effects of her alcoholism. I wish I knew then, what I know now about medical cannabis use.

Now, my situation is a bit strange, our family (2 adult sons, hubby and me) is divided between tokers and nontokers. Neither of my sons use cannabis and drink very moderately. I don't push my cannabis on them, and they tolerate our use (medical). One used a single time when he had a migraine. (His reaction- "Dang! It worked!"). The other likes house plants and has a mild interest in how my plants are doing.

As to the parents knowing or not. My "Granny Storm Crow's list" can be a big help in changing your parent's minds. Take a look at it (linked below) and I am sure you will find several useful articles and studies. Nothing like the scientific facts to counter all those government brainwashing lies! :thumbsup: There are sections on "addictiveness", "gateway effect", 'safety" and many others that may be helpful.

And remember, part of the problem is that your parents do love and worry about you. They have been "fed" propaganda and lies for most of their lives and are responding accordingly. When you finally do discuss cannabis with them, be calm, well informed and loving. Be able to show them the proof that backs up your point of view.

My father is a wonderful man, I'm a spitting image of him, though he's extremely conservative; I'm a bit more moderate.

He listens to Bob Marley, Beatles, Floyd, Allman Bros, Grateful Dead, etc. and has thoroughly maintained he has NEVER smoked weed, despite the fact that he lived with my uncle (his best friend at the time) in engineering school, who did all KINDS of things. He knows I smoke, and he knows I am also an intelligent person. He jokes about it with me, but he has never told my mom- something I respect about him immensely.

My mom is a nurse, and another intelligent person. She has tried it, and has a kind of odd stance on it. She doesn't approve of recreational use, simply because it's illegal, but if the topic of medicinal pot comes up, she's VERY much for it. I told her a while ago I've smoked pot; I have fibromyalgia, IBS, and some mild situational anxiety, and I told her it really did help. SHE knows I'm intelligent, hard-working, etc, so though she was surprised, she was okay with it.

The point is, SHOW your parents you are responsible, hard-working, and intelligent. These factors greatly influence how they'll react to finding out that you smoke pot. Good luck.
