Anyone Grown Opium Poppies?

Oh Master Trichome, I have a question for the wise and wisdom.

It's a simple question about harvesting. I've heard, that picking off the fan leaves, like, a week before harvest, speeds up the flushing process...is this true?

I ask because I am nearing a little cut down here in about 7days. I have flushed very heavily 3 times now, you think that's enough to get all that fert out of there?
