yes i did the light was 5feet away it was my first time to try it and it grows like a bomb the two small ones are 2 and 3 weeks old no stretching and much bushier from there start and no sizzle :dance: :thumbsup:

People who pull off a seed or clone grow using HID lights swear by t as the best way to GO.. SOUNDS lke your another supporter..

My friend back in chicago has these two KICK ass places where he grows. It's in his basement. He has a spot for the tv in the middle and 2 bookcases built into the wall beside it. Each bookcase has like a hidden lach inside it that let you open them up to go into a pretty decently sized grow area (about 4'w X 8'h X 3'depth). I asked if I could take pics while I was over there, but he wouldn't let.

I'm about to start some seeds under my 1000w MH...could someone give me some pointers so I don't fry em.How far should the light be from the soil?

I would never start it like that....

BUT BUT BUT

recently... like yesterday I read somewhere on the board ... a guy starting a bunch of seeds with a 1000HPS... he kept the bulb at 5 feet..

and I have heard from many people that if you start your seeds under an HID they will do better than any other method.. other than the sun..
