    yeilds?

    hi peep
im looking for a bit of advice from anyone with a bit of experience
im growing 4 feminisied northern lights seeds, their first shutes are just forming.
im going to grow them in 40 cm pots, under a 400w mh for 8weeks, followed by 8 weeks under 400w sodium. im going to try and keep both grow boxes going at all times, so will get a harvest ever 8wks (well thats the plan).

does anyone have an idea about what sort if yeild i should expect from each plant?

    cheers peep

    yeilds?

if you get 2 ounces per plant you did well...

a new grower is lucky to get 1 ounce per plant.

this is a very rough guess.. any number of things can change these numbers
the biggest factor is your light... 400watts.

assuming your plants are healthy and kept smaller than 20 inches before flowering..
And you keep the light veryvery close to the tops of our plants.. with GOOD airflow, you could get 1-3 ounces per plant...

    and now you know

May I enquire as to why it should be smaller than 20 inches?

    yeilds?

    yes sir, mr. saber...

400watts... personally I would not flower the plants being over 10 inches.. no FUCKING way....

reason.. the plants will double in size when you flower and 400watts just doesn't pack a punch (provide enough lumes) to grow anything worth your time beyond 12inches...

Now there are exceptions.. if you are new to growing and need to learn this leasson.. I think that is fine... or if you are only growing 1-4 plants... but once you have 6 or more plants you are 100%, not maximizing your yield..
THIS is assuming "you" don't have side lighting.

I think it is everty 12 inches that a lights lumes drop 50%... scary but true..

Even if you are growing 16 plants in a 4x4 area with a 1000watt HPS.. I would flower the plants at 10-20 inches.... I would never flower a plant taller than 20 inches indoor...

so what do you do if your plant is 30 inches tall and you think that my advice is brilliant...which it is...

you clone the shit outta your beloved mother... down to about 15 inches (although it is a general rule never to reduce a plant by more than 1/3 its starting size) then you let her grow for 7 days... and you flower..

    and now you KNOW

Haha Gknowm is now Zandors apprentice grower!!

I gotta admit that would be pretty cool though, being an apprentice grower and learning from someone who REALLY knew their shit.

16 plants in a 4x4 area? Now that's an overgrow! 5 gallon pots are generally 11.5 inches wide so you would have 16 plants in a 4x4 area in 5 gallon nursery pots. It would work. Don't know how well side growth would be but fuck it a 1000 watt HID light can penatrate the virgin mary.

Soooo.... very interesting question I've got... tCreator, gKnowm, others, how many plants do you reckon I should grow in my setup?
It's a 20"deep by 40" long area... 48 inches high (not counting cooltube).
    Planning on SCRoG.
Going to use a bottom Sterilite tub about 6inches high... foggy grow.
    400W MH + 600W HPS

    How many clones?
    4? 6? 8? 15? (don't laugh... I initially wanted to do 15 clones!)

    Thanks,

    -turtle420
