    Night terrors

Last night I had another night terror. It hasnt occured to me for some time but I have experienced the before. Basically what happens in a night terror is that too much seratonin is in a particular part of your brain (seratonin helps you fall asleep, it gives you that nice relaxed feeling when you are real tired.), this causes the brain to go into REM too quickly resulting in you seeing both reality and dream world at the same time. This can occur both going into a dream and out of.

Usually I get night terrors going into a dream but last night I woke from a dream and suddenly realised that there was a big dog that had lunged on top of me in bed, it felt very real and I couldnt move or anything. I was lying there and could see the room around me whilst lying in bed(kind of a skewed perception) but at the same had some dog/wolf pounce on me, since I was in the state of mind that I wouldve been in a dream I didnt think to myself "Well, this cant be real as there are no dogs in the house". After 30 seconds of freaking out it stopped and I snapped out of this weird reality.
Anyone else had this happen to them?

    I think it's actually melatonin that effects your sleep.....serotonin affects your appetite....and mood... i believe....not 100% but i think...lol...sorry to pick

but anway, I've had that happen to me a couple of times before...but just assumed that i've still been dreaming when i woke up...waking up from a dream and still being in a dream is weird....
I didnt know it was called night terrors though...thats some mental shit...

    Night terrors

When I was ill, off school for a week a while ago (hear me out, I can picture it so vividly but can't explain it to save my life) the first night of being ill, I was talking on msn and felt so bad all of a sudden that I lay on my bed for a while, then came back to the computer but my head starting hurting and my eyes when I moved them. I lay in bed watching a film with Arnold Schwarzenegger as a fireman in it. Well the film had finished and I was feeling awful so I tried to go to sleep, my God it was like I'd just swum in a pool of acid and absorbed millions of hits, I was lying there with my eyes closed and all I could see was a dark, desolate city, like flying around on a helicopter through the buildings and all the while more skyscrapers were shooting up out of the ground.
It sounds shitty, but it was so intense and not being able to get to sleep, and then it happened when I opened my eyes, like all noises in my head and stuff.
I must have been asleep at one point 'cause I couldn't stop all the images around me.
Ok, so that doesn't make it sound as intense as it was, but it's the first time something like that had happened to me and I didn't know what the fuck had happened.
I may have been "feverish" but I don't think it'd make you trip out and be dreaming all the fucked up stuff I was which I couldn't stop.

In conclusion, if you start feeling very ill one night, don't go to sleep, or you'll trip like a bitch.

It was a free high, sort of, but IMO not worth it.

    Heres some site I found
HSPs are usually a vision of a small creature that sits on the victims chest. The creature then either compresses the chest or attempts to strangulate the victim. Almost all attacks have been reported by people sleeping on their backs.
Well that explains the dog on my chest, lol

That's it, I'm strapping myself down, face first from now on.

Sounds scary, like people on here before saying they've been lying on their bed knowing someone's behind them and they can't move to see what's there, and they're just left lying on the bed with a presence behind them... if that happened to me, the first thing I'd move would be my arm.. to my gun, lol

I almost always sleep on my side but for some reason I was on my back. I wanted to move but the paralysis kept me there. Im can control my mind pretty well when Im on drugs but this scared the shit out of me. It usually happens within a few days of doing X (Ive had it happen before, except with complete reality chnages where I'd see both reality and the dream state but none were as threatening as the dog on my chest)

    Night terrors

I had an awful one when I was about 16, I woke up in the middle of the night, opened my eyes and there was a guy standing over me, like RIGHT over my body in the pitch black. I screamed SO loud, and jumped out of my bed so fast, running through to my mums room. She was also running out of her room to see why I had screamed, and we banged into each other, I hugged her and was whimpering, she couldnt calm me down for ages - her boyfriend dashed into my room, convinced there was someone there but couldnt find anyone, I couldnt speak for about 15 minutes, I was just shaking, and had to sleep in the living room because I was too scared to go back into my bedroom. I know it wasnt a dream, but it couldnt have been real.........I dont know what it was to this day, but I know what I saw.

Maybe it was a ghost.................who knows.
