    Hotels in Amsterdam

Ok well me and a friend are going to amsterdam this spring break but before we go we are trying to figure out what hotels are good. We are trying to rent out the rooms for about 4-5 nights, we dont really want to rent out beds even tho its cheaper. I was reading and Ocram said to goto bulldog.nl to check out there hotel and it seems cool and affordable, but im trying to shop around, see what other prices /locations i can choose from.

The bulldog seems cool so far but i wanna see what everyone else has to say, Also i was wondering can i smoke in the bulldog? And what hotels do allow smoking.

And no ive seen the botel but dont really wanna try it. Im not trying to spend a lot on a room but just somthing standard like a two beds, TV, and shower. Im looking for somthing anywhere from $75-$110 a night.

P.S. I know people say avoid the typical tourist coffee shops because they overcharge and what not, so what are some good "under-the-radar" coffee shops

stayamsterdam.com should b worth a look, it`s mostly privately owned appartments. Failing that, if u want hotels try hotels.nl. i`ve just booked 2 twin rms at end of feb for e500 total! cant wait. 7 weeks and 5 days to go

hiya man, i just back from amsterdam last day , the new year party was great! u don't need a radar...lol everything is free there and even you can smoke near the police weel, bulldog coffee shop is really too much expencive (2gr bud/40 â?¬uros! ..maybe newyear? dunno ..also bulldog hotels are very expencive either..http://www.bulldog.nl/ )
la tertulia is ok (nice quality stuffs try to "himalayan gold" sweet  ,smokey is wonderful !(they are alil expencive but different comfortable) de rokerij is good also, if you like classical rock, go to de kuil - 420 cafe(the coffeeshop owner is a man, they have very nice free gifts for ppl , barney's is classical and try space cake there, and hot ciabatta sandwiches (prices were from 5â?¬uros to 13 â?¬uros)

Been a few times now and stayed in different hotels. All the budget ones are pretty much the same with them having a bed, bath and bog. Would recommend the heart of amsterdam is not to bad in a prime location as is in the middle of the red light district.

Just got back from Amsterdam myself, had the best time man. been before, usually stay at HOTEL AJAX, cheap and cheerful. As for decent coffeeshops everyone has their favourites, shop around, hit as many as possible. Personally I reccomend SHEEBA spent the whole of new years eve in there, try the AK48... :stoned:
