Second thoughts?
whats up everyone. Last night, after many hours of smoking, i return home extremely stoned like always. I pull my car into this little parking spot we have, and unknowngly back right into a fence. the music is loud and i'm stoned so i didn't register either the sound or the feeling of hitting a god damn fence. This morning, i awake to the face of my father. He tells me that i hit the fence last night, and that he found somehting in my car. he holds up a bag with a 12 inch steamroller, a track of dank, a spoon, a chillum, bags, and a brand new 80 dollar digi. he tells me he'll talk to me later. NOW, here's the bad part, my parnets do not tolerate this behavior at all, so I know I'm in for the most insane lecture/punishment ever.
i'm 16 so i'm a sophomore in high school, and after my parents stop yelling at me, they break all my shit, take my keys, and basically tell me i'm not allowed out for the next like 6 months. Not to mention the way that regaining their trust will be next to impossible
Normally i'd be sitting here hating my parents for punishing me, but instead i just feel like shit. i feel like i should never have gotten involved with marijuana in the first place. I've been smoking for like 9-10 months on an almost daily basis, and i've gotten nothing from it. All it is is a bunch of sneaking around. it drains your money and your energy.
I feel like i need to talk to a phycologist or something. im not mad i got caught, only dissapointed with my own decisions. so everyone with strict parents, please ask yourself - is all this worth it if i get caught?
Please, someone give me some feedback on whats going onKronus76 Reviewed by Kronus76 on . Second thoughts? whats up everyone. yeah, getting caught sucks, but i dont get mad at myself over it. i feel i have the God given right to make my own choices and eat, drink ,or smoke whatever i want to. what sucked even worse for me was that i was ratted out and caught because of someone else not because i did anything stupid. dont be mad at yourself because its your right to choose and your parents can get mad, but they cant stop you.

Well, you can view it as it's the weeds fault, your parents fault, or your fault. It's all really. The weed is why you backed into the fence, your fault because you were driving, and your parents fault because they just dont understand I guess...
I've tried to quit 3 times already, because I thought it wasn't worth smoking when I was going to get caught. Obviously I never really quit, because I still smoke, but, now I limit myself to only once a week, and I must be somewhere where it's safe to smoke. Just relax, you'll pull through

I am both a parent and a grand parent.
What a great opportunity this is for you to have "that talk" that you always hear those in power telling young adults to have with their parents. I think that it would be wise for you to also understand that your parents were brought up believing what the government was telling them. We now know that we the people can not trust the government when it speaks to us.
There is plenty of research to go over with your parents to help them at least try to quell their paranoia and fear. Show them inportant websites like.......
www.lindesmith.org
www.drugwarfacts.org
www.drugwardistortions.org
and many other websites with very good honest information and research are linked to these sites.
Your parents will probably feel safe in their denial when you start to present this information to them, but as a parent i know that truth will overcome any obstacle we parents face. Is it a good thing to smoke pot at 16? 15? That depends how you were raised. Many cultures around the globe use cannabis and other substances with their children starting as early as 3 and 4 years old. Here in america we have been lied to and the truth is being distorted and in some cases, like th studies Nixon had done, are with held from public view. We did find out later what those trudies recommended. The studies President Nixon had done conlcuded that cannabis did not pose a threat to those who used it. Cannabis did not pose a threat to our children. Cannabis did not pose a threat to our national security. Cannabis did not pose a threat to our society. The studies and research concluded that ll penalties for the use of cannabis be eliminated and that cannabis be legal. Nixon and the usa government hid those studies and told the researchers to "go back and get it right". Talk to your parents.Help them along the way. Do it slowly and passively. They have years and years of programing that needs reprogramed.
Unteaching beliefs is harder than teaching them, unfortunately.
Good luck. This is also a great opportunity to teach one another in your home patience and understanding. Take advantage of it.
peace,

Hmmm, everyone raises a good point. Now that it's like 6 hours after i got caught, the intial shock is wearing off, and i feel a little more secure with what happened. Unfortuantly, you can't persuade my parnets by flashing them information on the internet. They have a strong set of morals and values, and unfortunatly no matter how "safe" cannabis can be portrayed as, it is still ILLEGAL. They grew up in the 70's, they used to smoke as well, they're well aware that cannabis isn't as horrible as everyone says it is. The legality issues surrounding weed is why my parnets are so against me doing it. They're also worried about my grades, which are still in the A/B range, so i just dismiss them on that point of them being over protective. The people who told me to just pull through are probably right, I'll still gonna smoke but youre right, i really have to stop going out of my way to do it. Anyone else out there get caught, have overprotective, intelligent parents, and feel like shit afterwards?

I know how you feel Kronus76. I was once almost caught by my parents and they accused me of smoking. After that I just felt like shit and didn't really want to smoke for a while. You just got to be careful. It is now very difficult for me to smoke daily because my parents don't really trust me as much.
Daima, thanks for those websites, but if my parents ever strait up caught me there would be no convincing them that weeds not all bad. I don't even think they'd let me show them the websites and if they did theirs no way they'd ever consider those ideas. I guess I just got to be stealth a little longer until I'm on my own.

Do you feel like you let your parents down? Why would you feel like shit?
Would your, or have your, parents made you feel like shit? a loser? untrustworthy>? I consider myself to be an over-protective parent/grand parent and i could never imagine thinking ignorantly about my (grand)kids.
Your grades seems fine to me. Tell them that their fearless leader barely got c's. lol. I didnt do straight a's in school(b-), and my b minus has never hindered me, nor has my 37 years of cannabis use. I was one of those long haired skinny kids who always got picked on by the football players and then i would get disappointed because all of those jocks got the girls on the weekend, so,,,,,,,,,i formed a band and started smoking pot. Now, i get all the girls. Fuckers. Who needs straight A's except egotistic parents ? We live in a society where we are taught the art of more and that the more we have the more successful we are. I say, "fuck that"
Find out what your life is worth to you and live it accordingly. Learn to march to your own tune, instead of marching to a gong of a school bell and being hurded into groups where you "fit in" the most. Thats what i told me kids then, and that what i tell them now. Never fit in. Never allow another, regardless of who it is, to call you an idiot/loser/ or manipulate you into feeling like shit about yourself because of your choices.
peace,

Second thoughts?
It keeps getting harder to keep on keeping on
With everybody screaming orders in my ear
I wanna be my own man, i'd love to walk alone
But every time i leave my home this is what i hear
Keep your nose clean
Keep your head above water
Keep your feet on the ground
Keep your hands off my daughter
Keep your back to the wind
Keep your thoughts to yourself
Keep an eye on the clock
Keep an eye on your health
I wish they'd just let me be by myself
And i'd do fine as my own man
They say keep up with the times
Keep up with the jones
Keep up with the rest of your class
I try to keep an open mind
In this closed minded world
Thats always telling me to keep off the grass.

Second thoughts?
I remember the first and only time I got busted. It was pretty awkward. But I didn't have any kind of second thoughts about it. In fact I went out and got drunk like three days later. Of course I was 18 at the time so there wasn't much that could be done to me.
