Ebb/Flow Tray!....How Deep Is Your Love??
I've been told that ganj plant's like a "DEEP" pot to allow max root growth.
I've got 2 big plastic boxs [both are 1metre squared]..the difference btween them is that one is a FOOT DEEP and the other is SIX INCH DEEP!
Is a SIX INCH Ebb/Flow tray too SHALLOW!???!!!??
All knowledgable opinions are very much appreciated and absorbed with gratfull joy!Easy Roller Reviewed by Easy Roller on . Ebb/Flow Tray!....How Deep Is Your Love??
Just thought I'd mention that these trays were in the hydro shop for silly money!!!
So I went to IKEA [those who are noneuropean might not know this place]
They sell the same sized tubs as kids toy boxs for about 7 FUCKING POUNDS STERLING!!!!!!!!!!!
the only difference is that they are not blck plastic but i don't care coz i'm inuslating my boxs against heat and light anyway!!! Go to IKEA and don't be ripped off by these super expensive grow shops!

I'm no expert. But if you don't grow 8 foot plants you should be ok with a shallower container. I've got an Ikea right down the street. Will be checking them out thanks.
I did find some nice wire drawers (like for closets) that sit on top of rubbermaids and will do a SOG with them. The drawers were only $3.50. I got some deeper ones at HomeDepot that were $15 each . I'm using them for lettuce right now to keep the birds away. I'm doing swc with a fountain pump. 6 inches is finefor that. Try it and tell us.

Ok forget that last post. The wire on the drawers on too close together. They do make great cover to keep the birds away.

Ebb/Flow Tray!....How Deep Is Your Love??
Not that I don't respsect the opinion of Garden Knowm!! Which I'm sure is a very learned and trustworthy opinion..It's just that I'm having difficulty excepting that 6 inch is a good enough depth for a flow tray!! I need to hear ZANDOR tell it...!
If 6 inches enough...then what is the minimum depth ? do the roots grow side ways instead of downwards??
