how easy really is growing?
so i buy some seeds, germinate them, plant them in potting soil outside in pots, and then let them sit in the sun, and water them on a regular basis. will this work or is it far more complicated? i live in a warm desert climate so the temps in the 70s and 80s right now. i need to plant them outside(and probably at a distant location)

how easy really is growing?
and if i do go through with this i will buy a book so ignore that whole last question. my real question is this: can i plant in jan? i dont want to do it if i cant do it now, heres the climate situation right now: its in the 70-80 degree range right now, but during summer it gets up to 120 degress here! what would happen if i planted today and followed all the growing instrucions? (planting indoors is not an option, by the way)

The problem is that you will be starting with short, flower inducing days, and they will increase into long, veg inducing days to finish.

if i were you i wouldnt worry bout temp. its the sun cycle that messes up the plants this time of year. the plant will want to flower before it veges enough. you probly should wait till around march.

They don't need much at all, in fact the less you coddle them the better they will do. One point, pots are a hassle, they grow pretty well in the ground with nothing more than some organic compost or manure around them.
As for timing, as a light-sensitive plant, you need to understand their growth and flowering cycle.
Flowering is triggered by increasing times of darkness, ie they start preparing to flower AFTER the longest day wherever in the world u live. Here in Melbourne, the equinox is 21 Sept. Day and night of equal length - I plant seeds after that, let them grow till 21 Dec then expect them to show sex sometime soon after that. Reverse this for the Northern Hemisphere. Remember, most cannabis seedlings are killed by too much of EVERYTHING! ...fertz, water, attention etc

Ive got a suggestion. What about Lowryder they can grow under any light schedule. I think it is that anything under 18/6 will lower the yield and obly take 8 weeks.
Hope this is helpful

growing can be about as easy or as hard as you want it to be
there are the basics that you gotts know.. light light schedule/life cycle stuff, and when to feed... it is extremely easy if you follow the basics
autoflowers i think are also a great idea.. like the new master low or power stout lowryder hybrids ... they have some master kush and skunk in them but they 100% autoflower like LR... this means they are not sensitive to the light cycle, can be planted anywhere, any light cycle, and no matter what produce smoke in 60 days... and they stay very small, you could even just grow one out on your desk, or a windowsill or something since they are only 12'' tall.... so they can be planted say on a city balcony where light pollution would have made a normal strain impossible or in the off season as a perpetual harvest, etc
id say if you are new and just want to grow a small amount without havin to learn about growing that much then get an autoflower... if you want to grow some of the legendary strains of fame then you want to get a regular old bagseed or a normal strain, and start learnin about cultivation
