New Year... New Car
Just bought this terrific 1971 vw bug located near Disneyland.
Will be going after her Jan. 9th via I-5 from Oregon than taking hwy 1 and hwy 101 back home.
Am a very happy hippy camper.... finally got back in what I believe is the best darn little car ever made that holds its value.

Cool hempy.
Used to have a '56 split rear window as a teen that I converted to a baja bug. Built my own 1600cc from scratch. Dual carbs, stinger exhaust, the works.
I Shoulda just left it alone, they are classics now. Kick myself for taking a sawzall to it!
Highway 1 and 101 are good drives through northern cali redwood forest etc.
Looks in pretty good shape for a 71 though.

Thanks... Appreciate that.
I've had a few bugs and buses...
I too cut one to make into baja..
Learned real fast about areodyamics and why its shaped like it is....
Since than it HAS to be original and of course the best models made were
1969-1972...
I got this off e-bay for $1600.
Heres a few more pics...
Am a happy hippy

Thats cool you got the car you wanted. But that is not a very highway friendly car, the 1971 beetles only had 60 hoursepower!! And at 34 years old its a sure bet its lost at least 20 of those!! Yikes! Be careful in it

Good thing it's the first year of the duel port (super beetle).
Am sure it will do 70mph just fine...
Probably be good for it after all those church runs... LOL
Thanks for the comment man... I'm pretty happy about it.
