Where has the music gone?

Why are there no good bands at the top anymore? my generations music sucks. mtv killed all the good music and replaced it with gay commercialized alternative and punk. all of this style of music sounds the same. give me some pink floyd, zeppelin, or hendrix over these talentless douchebags anyday. we need a musical revolution. whos with me?

There are still some good bands out there, you won't see them on Mtv that often though. (didn't mtv used to be cutting edge and new? they all kinds of sold out now)

the good music is in the underground. music has evolved considerably since the 70's.

don't look to rolling stone, mtv or the radio if you're looking for good music.

yeah dude, i admit. as much as i hate to admit it, there is some hardcore 21st century talent out there.

just give them some time to season out and earn our respect. it's been like that for decades.

I've never understood why the black eyed peas are so popular now, they're the most mediocre sounding band I've heard yet. their music is just.... bleh, nothing.

Ya, I don't like popular music these days. It's all so fake and computeriezed. Nothing sounds real or raw anymore.

You can't really blame MTV for all the crappy bands though. They are just doing what they are paid to do. Record company pays them so much money for so many airings of their music a day. Money talks man.

I think it's just the change in music, it may get better, or it may get worse, but watching a Zeppelin show over a Simple Plan show...doesn't even compare! There's no passion anymore. It seems you can throw around some money, teach some underage good looker to play a few chords, there you go! A hit! $$$$$$$$$

thats creepy...i was actually listening to that song, the song ended as the video begun...

yeah man, there is still talent out there though...people are just too lazy to find it, record companies arent into getting the good stuff out there as they used to, they just want to make money

well its better now than it was in the early 00s when we were ruled by commercial lipsynching bubblegum boybands and girlgroups.

the good bands are out there, you just have to look. i have this thing called last fm that lets me type in a band i like, and plays songs from similar bands like a radio. i find alot of new bands i like that way.
