it's not just the active ingredient, like dxm. the inactive ingredients, like guasefien, etc. are also destructive. I probably drank a bottle of cough syrup 1-2 times a week for 6 months, and that's when i noticed my skin discoloration. i overdosed on tylenol (worst product ever) which had dxm in it, and it only took one time for this to happen before i went into liver failure. the liver filters out toxins, and when you overload it, it simply begins to shut down. anything taken in large quantities (except pot) isn't good. our bodies are fragile, they weren't made to consume that shit. the doctors who stopped me from going into liver and renal failure told me this, so i'm just regurgitating it. i don't want to sound condescending or anything, but that is the misconception, that it's just the dxm that hurts you. again, i just want people to be safe and not have to go through what i did.
