No words are ambiguous; there is no relationship between words and the thing they describe. The color blue could have just as easily have been called dog.

They only possible exception to this might be in instances of otta-motta-pia (ha ha I spelled that all fucked up but my dictionary is not helping :stoned: .) Anyway it's where the word is the sound it makesâ?¦like â??quackâ?�â?¦or â??barkâ?�â?¦.I bet you if I barked or quacked at someone who speaks Portuguese they would know what I was talking about.


The meaning of words have both denotative and connotative meaning. The denotative meaning of the American Flag would be the United States of America. The connotative meaning would be passionately disagreed upon.

If this type of thing interests you than you should look into Communication theory. Itâ??s good stuff.
