    good books

I haven't read too many books in my time, but I finished a really good one about a month ago now, called, A Million Little Pieces, by James Frey.

It's pretty much a recollection of this mans experience during his 6 weeks of rehab. He was an alcoholic for 10yrs, a crack addict for 3yrs, and the book starts out with him, on a plane, with his 4 front teeth missing, broken nose, and a hole in his cheek...he had no idea how, couldn't remeber...

Then it goes from him into rehab, straight through to the end. After reading it, it made me realize how destructive crack, speed/meth, alcohol really is. This man was 23yrs old and if he had one more hit of crack, or more drink, his body wouldn't take it, and he would die.

At one point in the story, he has to go to the dentist to have root canal work done, WITH NO ANESTHETIC, because he is an addict, no drugs at all... Damn!

Hell yes. I heard that Tim O'brien writes 9 hours a day every day no matter what. Just a useless fact for all you readers.

Kurt Vonnegut is my favorite writer. He'll make you laugh out loud.

    good books

The Mists Of Avalon, by Marion Zimmer Bradley
The Witching Hour, Lasher, and Taltos; by Anne Rice
Clan of the Cave Bear series by Jean Auel
    Books by Stephen King
    Books by Scott Cunningham
    Books by Mary Stewart
    Books by Terry Pratchett

I love to read, and have a lot of odd trivia types of books, like Facts and Phalluses; Fart Proudly by Benjamin Franklin; Uppity Women of Medieval Times. I have an interest in ghosts, witches, Irish history, King Arthur, and erotica, so I have a lot of books, 3 very large book cases full.

When you open a book, you open the doors to the world.
