I didn't choose to be born white, I didn't ask for it, it's not something I worked hard to attain, it's just a fact of life - I think it sounds funny when someone says they're proud to be black, or proud to be white. I may as well say I'm proud to have brown eyes, or proud to have size 5 feet!

The color of your skin is just like those things, and as far as I'm concerned, just as trivial. Be proud to be who you are, but why put the focus on color?
