Bongo, if you are a newbie, you may want to consider just starting in a 3-5 gallon pot .. use a perlite soil mixture to help reduce chances of over watering..... You will not need to transplant as long as you keep your plant under 20 inches in the veg stage (18-6).
good luck : )

important noobie question
I havent used seeds in a while since i have access to great clones, but when i did use seeds i would start them in a wet paper towel and then i would place them in a dark cupboard in a tuperware bowl with lid. The lid to stop towel from drying out. Do not let that happen. Your seed should open in a few days - a week. Once this happens i found what worked best for me was to then transplant newly sprouted seedling into a papercup full of nice soil, but not to much fertlizer, since roots are very sensative at this time.. From there you can keep cups under a Flouresent (sp) light until you get more growth on it. After that, if you are growing inside, you may want to put them in 2 G.containers, since they will require longer growth period, say than a clone would. You dont want your roots to become rootbound. Once your plant(s) have grown for while in your 2G pots you can force flowering to check for sex. My suggestion would be to find a grower/friend, ANY FUCKING BODY and get a clone or two that you can grow and clone yourself. Especially if you are growing inside. Knowing what your plants sex is before putting all of the effort, cash, and time into sure does help with the anger issues that may occur with not know and wasting all that effort.
Good luck, be safe, and dont be afraid to ask questions.
