My friends went ice skating in the park today. There were gone a total of 4 hours. When they arrived home the river they lived on flooded their grow room. They have 6o plants with water from the river reaching inside the containers..The plants are 2 day into 12/12 schedule..

What help should I offer them?

I would let them dry out. If your river is extremely polluted then flush the containers with distilled water and let the plants dry out the soil for a few days. I wouldn't worry too much.

They have only been in 12/12 for a few days. I would give them some light again for 24/0 until they dry out and recover a bit. Then once you know there are no problems in about a week you can go back to 12/12. A few days is not enough time to trigger the flower cycle plus the extra light will dry them out faster.

Like it was said before, flush them just in case once they dry out.
