ok bear with me i know this is going to end up being long, and might even go off topic.... i put it here because i'm basicly talking about the end of the world (not fortelling it or some crazy shit, just refrencing it, to show my point of view and such, i however, don't want to use the word apocolypse because that basicly puts this whole thread to a religious stand point and i'm not trying to take it there, denounce any religion or really even get it involved.. ok let's get started.)
anyone else ever sat and thought about how strange it is that we base almost everything on money? let me take this further to show my point even further... ok basicly, humanity as a whole.. bases status, character and just about everything else on paper... and (i think not sure about this) that paper is based on gold, held in reserves.... each denomination carries a certain ammount of weight in gold (i.e. the weight of gold that a penny is worth is 100 times less than the weight of what a dollar's is worth). but why, i cannot for the life of me understand why... now that i've "grown up" the whole idea of money just seems stupid... i mean, ok say the end of the world is coming... no one can escape it... no matter how much money you do or don't have, no matter how much money you throw at it, it's not going to make it go away. further details, ok say the sun is going to go out in 2 weeks... without the sun we can't survive for so many reasons, i don't think i have to list them but i'll list a few of the majors incase some people don't have an understanding of what would happen if it did go out. ok, all plant life would die, since it relys heavily upon the sun to live and do it's thing, with plant life gone, there goes the oxygen, since plants are what turns "used air" we breathe, back into "useable air"... without the plants, animals we rely heavily upon for food would die off as well, with the sun gone we would be subjected to colds so extreme the human mind can't even fathem it... talking about cold so severe that if you were to even be exposed to it you would be frozen instantly... (from a scientific stand point, you would probably still be able to think for atleast a few seconds while you are frozen rock hard) so, we could freeze todeath, run out of oxygen, or starve to death... there would be no way to escape this death... what good would that money or gold even have anymore? sure if it were coming some rich bastard could buy himself some time, but it certainly wouldn't be very much... about all that paper would be good for at this point would be to burn to stay warm... yet, given these facts anyone that doesn't have money is almost always instantly looked down upon by people who do. most people see a homeless guy on the side of the road, or sitting outside the local store and think things along the lines of "waste of space" "lazy person" "it's his own fault becasue he don't want to work" and so on... yet, to get a job to support yourself you almost always have to have a house, so you can have a phone, so they can call you, clean clothes, transportation (or a job close enough to walk to) so without having money, you can't make money. we (i say we, because i'm speaking for the most part about the human race generally, i know there's alot more people who look down on people like that, then realize he's just all around screwed for the most part) make it nearly impossible for the people who have nothing, to work their way up to have something, yet look down on them for not trying. there's just so many questions surrounding the economy system we have (the world, not just one certain country) that i can't understand. the fact that we even have a money system signifies human's are greedy, and will only work if they are to gain something out of it, instead of working just to better themselves, like ants for example... they work together to better their colony, i'm sure they don't have money. so has anyone else ever thought about this? thought about it like really thoroughly.... for the most part, the economy we have, only gets the rich, richer, and the poor, more screwed... especially as prices go up and up... rich/wealthy people get raises, at pretty much the same rate (just for the most part, i have no thoroughly researched the payroll raise - living cost hikes) that prices for everyday things go up, yet the poor, still pretty much bring in the same ammount... so as time goes on it only gets worse and worse.... this is just stuff i've been thinking about lately, and it just makes me wonder.. why?

Do you think the sun will shut off like a lamp, or just burn out, gradually. In order for a huge ball of fire, such as the sun, to instantly go out, there'd have to be a block of ice floating around the universe that's about 500 times the size of the sun.

I think of money as a point system. The more points you have the closer you come to winning at life. Which is all messed up, obviously. It makes it so humans don't live as they were originally supposed to, as a community. One person who inherits a fortune from his parents can live all of his life without doing anything. A social leach.

Cabbages and Kings are the people in our society that don't do any work. The inherited rich, and the extremely poor. Its backwards, and its only promoting our lust for individuality which pushes us farther and farther away from what I'd call our maximum human potential, as a race that is.

I think there are alot of better directions we could have gone in then money. Much better ways to ensure a good life for everyone. But, we didn't. So I'm just going to try and earn some points (make money) and live as comfortably as I can.

i think about shit like that all the time....i've always wondered why we gadda worry bout money, and why we can't just all get necessities for free, and all the luxurys we'd hafta work for. y'know? i mean, we spend all this money on stupid tv shows, game shows, cartoons, total fucking BS...while there's kids/adults in our own country that are going hungry and have no home...and yet they always try to get us to feed the hungry in some other country???!!! :cursing:

i, for one, abhore money, simply because of the corperation (or the idea thereof, but more importantly, the practice) and taxes.

especcially taxes that help support (previously rich) corperations!!!


it's retarded, redundant, assanine. we should not have any sort of bater system at all, there should be those who struggle to survive, the ones who do all the work.

if you dont PHYSICALLY EARN your keep (I.E. grow food, or help protect the garden/community from pests and animals) you shouldnt be there at all.
