My mom made little plastic baggies filled with candy/dollar bills and made me give them to the homeless this year, and donated thousands to charities, so yeah, I'd say she's definitely in the Christmas spirit.

My friends were supposed to come over, and they didn't yet, so I have like.. two-three hundred bucks worth of presents I didn't give out yet. Can't wait. :rasta:

Well, my mom inherited about a hundred grand when my grandmother died a few months ago (she worked at IBM). Before that, my mom was on disability because of her bad knees, and my dad who had a decent business fucked up his business and lost all of his money, the house, and our possessions (after selling most of the things he'd given me when I was kid) for his methamphetamine addiction. I haven't seen him since I was eight; he was living at a homeless mission at the time. I grew up wondering if I'd eat some days, and some days at the end of the month we DIDN'T. And yeah, some days at Christmas, I didn't get anything.

But yeah, I'm some spoiled "little kid". I guess in order to be "good people" in your book, we should've donated ALL our money? God forbid we come up on a little inheritance. FUCKING asshole.

i think i interpreted it the same way he did. better pick your words more carefully next time if you don't want to piss people off. instead of talking about how you hate spoiled people, why not focus on the fact that he went out to help the homeless for the holidays, regardless of the size of his donation in proportion to how much he received as a present? its the holidays, focus on the good in the world rather than what you dislike. instead of letting him enjoy his gift, you had to take a dig, and make him defend himself by talking about the bad in his life. its just unnecessary man
