why is hunting legal in the US? and gun ownership???
Guys, when you say hunting is good because it keeps animal populations in check, it's a load of bullshit. Before humans, that's what predators were for. North America was overrun with wolves and mountain lions who would do the job nicely. But now that we've pushed off the predators to little pockects scattered across the continent, yeah, there's some over-population with regards to deer and stuff.
So don't pat yourselves on the back because you think hunting is doing mother nature a favour, cause she was able to take care of herself before.

You're damn right, Flesh. But, things would've gotten out of control had all the deer we've been shooting stayed alive. They're hard for natural predators to get ahold of. Even the Pteradactyl.
Besides, we are natural predators. We were shooting them with bows and arrows, when we could.

Excellent point, koshea.
I think the real issue is people who use "things" irresponsibly; guns, cars, drugs, McDonald's hamburgers, etc. Law always seems to be reduced to a lowest common denominator level by those who don't care to solve problems at the root cause. Eliminate "weapons" and people won't kill - bullshit.
At least we're having this discussion; that means that this highly evolved predator has a conscience. Maybe there's hope for us yet.

I think it was Mark Twain who said; "Don't try to teach a pig to sing; it's a waste of time, and it irritates the pig".

Im pretty sure any country would have bombed afghanastan after what they did to us and the iraq thing i do agree that there could have been a better way to handle it but it will in the end turn out to be a better thing for the iraqi people
