in ther germenating stages fir a cannabis plant, roughly how long shoudl it take till i can lable the seeds as duds. im currently using the paper towel method, with one white flourecent light. also heating lamp to keep the area warm.

You are germinating the seeds using paper towel method and you have a light on them and a heat lamp?

Please explain this in more detail; I don't want to say anything if I miss understood you.

The idea of the paper towel method is to cover the plate and keep it in a dark, warm place for the hulls to soften and the taproots to show. Once you have 3/4" tap roots showing you can plant them with the root down about 1" to 1-1/2" deep. It can take up to a week for some strains.

I believe it was amstron/zandor who gave me the 24 hour germination method:

Put your seed(s) in a coffee cup with water in it, place something over top of the cup, place the cup by a heater, check in 24 hours.

the idea of soaking them for 24 hours before you try to germinate them is to soften the outer shell. It's only needed for old seeds in truth.

didnt knwo they were supposed to be in all dark. welli tryed the coffer cup and my cannabis sed have sprouted, but the damn melon seeds i had in another cup did -_-
