It seems that our families tend to tell us they want us to live our dreams and they tell us we can do anything n life and that they will be there for us and blah, blah, blah. But, when we start to do our own thing it seems they had a different agenda all along. They really want us to do what they wanted us to do, not the other way around. I smoked pot from 12 yrs up through and will continue to smoke as long as I have lungs to hold it. I have a successful marriage, an adult child, a house that is not rented, 2 cars that are bought and paid for, Shall I go on?
I dont even think our parents realize they think that way, they think they are doing whats right for us. Well, who would know whats better for us than us?
Dont get pissed, kill them with kindness. Without entering fantasy land, tell them what they want to hear and move on. My mother finally got it after 10 years of letting her know that it didnt matter what she thought, it IS MY life and pot will always be a part of it. She got it and knows that when she comes here now she should keep quiet about it. I dont normally smoke directly in front of her, but she smells it often enough. I dont care, I am 38 and since I hit 17 I have done as I damn well please as long as I hurt no one.

You will make youself whatever you want to, dont let small minds that say they want you to have more than they had goet to you, it probably really isnt so. Most people live and and dwell on negativity and if you are doing something that others arent and they think it offensive to their morals, you must be put down and forced to conclude that their way is the only way. Well, for them maybe, but what about you? They dont see it that way. I just know that parents DO NOT want t let their babies to grow up and be different from them no matter how much they profess the opposite.
Just nod and smile a lot and let them think whatever, you worry about you, dont worry about them. You will be fine! Stay positive and whatever you want will probably come your way. If youve been in college for 2 years, you are a big boy now and can make up your own rules, go for it, but remember to hurt none and dont step on others to get where you want to be, that shit comes back to bite you in the ass later.
