I have a 130 aqua via pump in my 6 plants, 5 to 8 gallon rez setup and I leave it on 24/7. Most drop systems can go that. I am on my 3rd grow and when I try to cut back during the dark they kind of droop. they get used to the water. I start them in 1 inch rockwool and then 3 inch net pots and hydrotron clay rock. Just bend the drip pipe so it does'nt drip right on the stem or rockwool. Make it just to the side a little and no problems. Check out monster bitch in my thread (redhair ladies).

A good time to start with is 15 on 60 off when the lights are off. With lights on you can run them full on.
The later into flowering (last 3-weeks) your plant is you can let it on 24/7 lights on & off.

Either way is good. When they are young sometime with some strains a 24/7 drip is a little much. Cutting back when the lights are out is a good idea. Watch your plants they will tell you what to do. Just remember in Hydroponics they can show sighs of problems faster then any other grow system. But that can also recover faster too.

Plants like off time. The roots should dry slightly between on times. A popular number is a continuous 1 on and 4 off. I do 40 seconds on and 7 minutes off. These timers are at least $85.
