I'm not sure what weed is supposed to inhibit. It never prevented me from doing anything. As far as getting ahead is concerned, yes, smoking isn't going to get you there. It also isn't going to prevent you from getting there, however. It all depends on the person.

I've been smoking weed since I was 12 or 13 years old. I'm 36 now so you do the math. Since I've started smoking I've learned to scuba dive. I've learned to speak, read and write Chinese. I graduated college with a double major and with honors. I've travelled the world. I did some pretty serious rock climbing and mountaineering. I've become a father and purchased my own home. I'm currently an executive in the High Tech industry, bringing home a pretty decent paycheck. I did all this while smoking weed reguarly, doing a lot of acid, and eating large quantities of shrooms. Now I'm not trying to claim that I'm hot shit or anything. I really don't think I'm any better than anyone else. I just wanted to point out that smoking weed, and using other drugs, never inhibited me from doing anything.

Now this is one of the smartest comments I've read on this board in a long time. This right here is the key. Weed should be used to enhance things that you already do. Weed shouldn't become the thing that you do. It's kind of like putting salt on your food. A little bit here and there makes things a whole lot tastier. If you just start eating spoonfuls of it though, you're gonna fuck yourself up.
