My first grow attempt

I put a seed taht i soaked in tap water for 24 hours into some soil yetserday or the day before and it still hasn't sprouted yet. I pushed back the dirt on top of it and saw that the seed had broken open and a white stem is going down into the soil. When i saw this i immediately put the soil back on top of it. I hope this wont cause it to die or cause any complications???? I don't think i touched the seed or at least not too hard.... Also how many more days will it be before i get a sprout since i saw a white root growing down.

If it sprouts and i actually get somewhere then i will keep this thread updated. But for now i need answers quick.

normaly within 3-4 days that baby will moving and after one week moving fast and then 2 weeks pretty fast this all depends on ur light so i'll say get a 40w cfl for now soft white will be fine check ur local hardware store should be around 2600 lumens

yeah a few days I would say. Maybe you should try to sprout 2 more if you have the seeds, cause you never know if u get a male, unless you have female seeds

It's been 5 days since i put the seed into the soil and now it popped out of the soil a little yesterday where i can see the white stem coming out of the seed. But the seed is curled pointing down on the stem? it don't look too healthy at all. And I put it under my cfl lighting yesterday and woke up this morning to find no growth whatsoever. The seed hasn't even begun to come off yet it's still around it tight. What's wrong here or what can i do to save this sprout if anything at all?

Alright update it's the next day and there is virtually NO growth whatsoever. The stem is still white and the green leaves haven't even popped out of the seed yet. I think i'm on day 6 and no leaves??!! What did i do wrong please help with suggestions I have to be at work iwthin an hour please hurry.

Should the plant be under my cfl even tho it has no leaves???
