An email from my Congressman
Thoughts, anyone?
Thank you for contacting me to express your support of the Steve McWilliams
Truth in Trials Act. I appreciate the opportunity to gain a better
understanding of your thoughts on this issue.
As you may know, the Steve McWilliams Truth in Trials Act (H.R. 4272) was
introduced by Rep. Sam Far (CA, 17) on November 9, 2005. It has now been
referred for consideration in the House Judiciary and House Energy and Commerce
Committees. The American Medical Association, the National Multiple Sclerosis
Society, the American Glaucoma Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology,
and the American Cancer Society have all rejected the claim that marijuana has
any therapeutic value. In addition, the National Institute on Drug Abuse
conducted an exhaustive review of the medical literature and found little or no
effectiveness of marijuana when used for medical purposes. Furthermore, the
bulk of our law enforcement community insists that legalization may increase
crime and traffic fatalities and will hamper their efforts to prevent the spread
of all types of drugs into our communities. Should this legislation come to the
floor of the House for a vote, please be assured that I will keep your thoughts
in mind.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your support of this
legislation. I value your input, and hope you will always contact me whenever
you have concerns regarding any issue under consideration in Congress.
Best Wishes,
Representative J. Gresham BarrettKramerica Reviewed by Kramerica on . An email from my Congressman Thoughts, anyone? Sadly Scarlett, most of the people in this part of SC probably agree with him. Here in my town, if you smoke the weed, you might as well wear a tshirt that says "I Hate the Baby Jesus"
In fact, Greenwood, SC was about to organize a mass protest of Wal-Mart after a false rumor had been spread that the store fired a door greeter for saying "Merry Christmas"
I agree with you, I was unaware those organizations felt that way.

its bullshit that they are trying to feed you because as long as the government says "they" said those things, everyone will believe it but I doubt that its really true because the compasion act for medical MJ is passed in 10 states. so I would assume that all those organizations are the same and not different for each state

Of course now, we don't really live in too much of a democracy. Considering that all them durned elite fat-cats upstairs make the rules, I'd say we're in an aristocracy. Yay capitalism.

vote for anyone who is not currently in office, and is not affiliated with the two controlling parties. one is just as bad as the other and I swear that for all of their blustering they are all in cahoots, dems and repubs. Think about it, con a bunch of folks in to voting for you, then you collect a 6 figure salary for doing mostly nothing and a guaranteed pension for the rest of your life. These guys are not fools, just greedy self important assholes. how many times have you heard them promise (our own senator wellstone of minnesota) to only run for two terms and then suddenly decide that the country just can't get along unless they get their 3rd or 4th term as well. Arrogant bastards.
Damn I miss Governor Turnbuckle. (Jesse Ventura)

see, I thought they where supposed to listen to our opinions and vote based on what the people who live in the state want. I also thought they where supposed to be concerned about their people, and hardworking.
I am so naive.

They are supposed to do those things but when one has a job where it's almost impossible to be reprimanded much less fired, one tends not to give a shit anymore. And it tends to get even worse when they get re-elected, again and again and again and again. Sometimes I think this is the worst political system in the world...except for all the rest of them. Hmm...the best of the worst...something is not quite right about that.
