Pot......Should I still be smoking it???
http://www.tgmag.ca/tgo.v2e8/v2e8.10_ei.html
I've been vegetarian since 1976.
I'm very healthy,
rarely sick and
don't have weight issues.
My kids aren't though,
when they're old enough
they can make their own choices.
It isn't for everyone.
Takes longer to plan menus
to ensure a balanced diet
but it works for me.
BTW Albert Einstein was a vegetarian

Did You Know?
Scientists discovered recently that vegetables are actually intelligent, and can communicate at extremely high sound frequencies. If you have the right equipment, you can hear sobbing, pleading, screaming, and even death rattles while you prepare a salad!
Looks like you vegans are going to be reduced to eating your own body hair...
(btw, that was inspired by george carlin, the funniest asshole I've ever heard of. I myself have never heard a vegetable scream, nor do I care, as I don't eat that many anyways.)

I love meat. I love the smell of a big fat porterhouse on the grill. I will always prefer meat over vegetables. Although, the latter goes great with the prior. In any case, I say, to each his own. Do what makes you happy.
My only qualm with any of this, is with the bastard vegans who feel it's necessary to try and turn/'inform' meat eaters with their so-called truths. Here's a news flash: We know how the animals are treated. We know how they are killed in every gruesome detail. We don't need your statistics. We like meat, you like plants. Let's just keep it at that. You will never win your little battle against meat-eating. You will never turn the planet. Just shut up and eat your damn plants, and we'll shut up and eat our damn blood-drenched meat.
I'm hungry now.

I've been a vegetarian since 1989 and have been with a carnivore/hunter since 1995. Our eating differences mean nothing in our relationship because I'm not a vegan, I eat dairy products.
It is possible to build muscle without eating meat, you can find protein in other foods. Veggies work out and have muscle tone and definition like every other meat eater that takes care of their body.
The only thing I haven't been able to get past is being able to smell meat on a carnivore's breath...they seem to be blissfully unaware of this. Altoids...please, for the love of Pete.

Lol, I thought this thread was about whether pot is goo or bad. Pot is safer than ciggs, and achohol/used as much as achohol.

That isn't true, because the second smartest animals are primates, which don't eat meat. There are plenty of moronic meat-eating animals. Your brain can grow just fine without meat, I know many vegetarians that are more intelligent than people that eat both and have done so since they were babies.how do you think humans evolved with such big brains, it was by eating meat. if you dont eat meat, your brain wont grow right.

I believe the second smarted aminals are dolphins, and they DO eat meat.
In regards to the actuall topic at hand, my friend smokes a few times a week, but he runs 2 times a week and does free-weights 2 times a week (i.e. monday: run, tuesday: free-weight, wednesday:rest, thursday:run, friday:free-weight, sat/sun: rest). He seems to be in pretty good shape.
On the other hand, I know someone who smokes every other day, does nothing but read, and is the tonest person I've seen in town.
So maybe you should... read?

isnt it fascinating that the carnivores are informed about the topic basicly on a general, vague level?
my argument isnt based on "i'm superior than you" it's based on compassion and a desire to make the world a better place. there's nothing wrong with that, clevemire. dont be so harsh man.

Another perspective on carnivore/herbivore.
Im not gonna slam meat, i love the stuff, but in moderation.
As far as producing meat goes, its pretty energy consuming. It takes shitloads more water and fuel and energy to produce meat than it does to feed people on grains.
Now everyone who lives in a city and drives a big ute and eats a horse a day wont care, fair enough.
But the world wont hold many people if we keep eating as much meat as we do. I dont know the figures off hand, but the world could feed billions more if we didnt use half the water we have to grow grain, to feed to cattle as bagged feed or pasture. U gotta hope u can still afford it when 2 billion chinese develop the same tastes.
As far as health benefits of being a vego, it depecds on the quality and diversity of the plants. If u eat only supermarket stored, sprayed, chemmy veges then its not that great for you. On the other hand if youre getting a good diverse supply of fresh, organic produce, a small amount of meat is all you'd need every now and then. gotta eat fish, gotta eat eggs tho i reckon.
But diverse diet is good. i eat 3 bits of fruit everyday and a swag of vegetables. when ive got grapes, berries etc from my yard i eat bags of the shit.
I also eat about 2 serves of mixed herbs a day. This is wherre i beelive we have gotten it very wrong with diets. From borage, dandelion, salad burnet, parsley, chives, garlic chives, garlic, sage, rosemary, nettle etc etc etc we can receive vast amount of nutrients. what are all those xpensive herbal supplelents full of? fkn dandelion and nettle half of em. Goes well with the foraging forest animal most primates are.
And this is where food as medicine comes into play. Why pay a chemist to cure(? fuck up yr liver etc) the cancer eating properly in the first place and feeding your immune system would have helped prevent?
I do keep chooks for eggs and meat and I fish for meat (and sport) too. When I get a bigger place i'll keep pigs for meat. Im not impartial to blowing a feral pig or bunnies earhole out either, and dont mind eating farmed roo at all.
