This is what i have to work with

I got a 16 in. tall, 14 in. wide cabinet like coffee table that opens up in my basement to grow my plant(s) in. I can get up to a 250 watt light bulb to put in a small portable light inside the cabinet. But here's where i'm worried. The cabinet is made out of wood and the light bulbs i have access to will be putting out lots of heat along with the light. Since i'll be running the light upto 16 hours/day starting out i'm worried that the heat will build up inside taht cabinet and maybe burn it or even worse catch fire. As if that isn't bad enough i read the warning label on that little portable light and it says to not use more than a 60 watt bulb in it to "avoid possiblity of fire". So i need your guys input on whether or not i should chance this and put a 75 watt or 150 watt bulb in there.
I was also wondering if i did put a 75-150 watt bulb in there could i lessen the chance of fire by putting a fan inside the cabinet and let it run while the light runs? Please keep in mind i can't do anything fancy and this is pretty much what i have to work with because i have to hide this from my religous conservative parents. PLZ any suggestions on my situation are welcome and plz answer as soon as possible plzzz.

if you have access to an old computer that you don't want, break it up & get the fan, make a little hole in ur growbox & whack it in there. it's good for cooling but also good for circulation (keep it on even when the lights off). if you can cope i definitly recomend a 250W MH, i got mine for £85 from seaofgeeen.co.uk (but ur prob in america, like everyone else). my advise would be: get a 250W get some wood & build a bigger box, if it's too hot to keep your hand under the light (palm facing down) then it's gonna burn ur plant

this also works, in the box punch a hole for intake place a fan there and this intake must be at the bottom. now at the top punch one for exhaust put a fan here also and inside put a fan next to the light to keep it cool, and get a better socket for the light, if you increase the speed of the exhaust fan there will be ni rise in temp. and everything will be alright...good luck
