Weed can have a negative effect on people , whether any of you wanna think it are not . Not saying it will have this effect on everyone . But when your to the point where you cant go 5 mins without smoking , or go to the movies without smoking or spend all your cash and are in debt and dont care about any of it . My buddy went to college and started smoking several times a day , now hes different . All he cares about is smoking , its all thats on his mind. We cant hang out like we used to cause its ALL he think about . Whatever .. seeing how weed changed him makes me wanna quit all together. Not saying it changes everyone the same way ,,, but there is a chance it can change your personality , and not for the better.

Personal Rant: I flippin HATE it when I hear people speak such nonsense such as "Pot changes people!" "Marijuana is the gateway drug to coke and herion!" A person can make their own choices and you can't blame it on the weed. that's just bull poop. Its a natural plant put on Earth for a reason by God. I love my mary jane

While I sympathize with your friend's troubles, marijuana has had a completely different effect for me. Before I started smoking, I was extremely anal-retentive and difficult to get along with. I was repeatedly told by my closest friends that I could quite an ass-hole. In addition, I was depressed for most of my high school and early college career. I like to think I am a much different person after a year of smoking. I am a lot more laid back, am much easier to get along with, am no longer depressed, and have made quite a few new friends along the way. So.... you're right, mairjuana -can- change people, but -how- it will do so is, in my opinion, more of a function of the person than the pot.
