its all in the personality man... i know lots of people who are burnouts... but i know more people who smoke bud and raise families, keep good jobs, and live pretty much like every non toker except they get high.

you can choose who you want to be. your mind is what makes you what you are

yeah.. thats bang on.. some people do have addictive personalities.. and we all know that it effects everyone differently..

there's some statistics somewhere on the likelihood of becoming psychologically addicted.. but yeah.. it does definately happen

All he cares about is smoking , its all thats on his mind. We cant hang out like we used to cause its ALL he think about . Whatever .. seeing how weed changed him makes me wanna quit all together. Not saying it changes everyone the same way ,,, but there is a chance it can change your personality , and not for the better. Rating: 5

I had a friend that thought all I cared about was weed. He and I both are musicians, and at the time, he only smoked every once in a while which was rare. Now, we are in a band together, and get things accomplished. I still smoke just as much as I used to, probably more, but he smokes more too, so he no longer thinks that it's all I care about.

I mean, I get high everyday, but I also listen to the same song everyday, I eat everyday, etc... but it's not all I care about, it's just something I do.

Oh, I don't call it pot. When I'm talking to my friends we usually call it weed. I like the word marijuana, but not that many people use it.

But at the same time, I have nothing but respect for marijuana, and it's one of my favorite things in life. I could (and sometimes do) stare at one of the Cannabibles for hours. The scent of gourmet cannabis is my favorite sent. My favorite flavor out of all foods/drinks/everything is the flavor of gourmet weed. Nothing makes me more happy than scoring top quality creme of the crop. The drive up to get it. The guy smiling and assuring me it will be amazing. Me creating a mental image of how I think it will look/smell/taste. Them getting in the vehical, and me instantly smelling it, and them showing me the bag, and seeing the giant round hairy buds. The dealer grinding some up in his grinder, and then opening it up in front of my nose for me to smell the amazing array of scents. Us going on a roadie and me getting BLAAZED. Then us dropping the dealer off at his place, and us going home, with me happy that I have top quality cannabis!

So, I wouldn't say weed controls my life, but it inspires it. It makes me happy. I appreciate the nice things in life better. I'm easier to get along with while high, and it puts me in the mood to play and write music, where I can entirely focus on what I'm doing, so while it's a big part of my life, I wouldn't say it's a deterant(sp).

weed will NOT change your personality, which has been formed through years of social conditioning etc. your friend probably has a fetish for doing illegal things. the fact that weed is illegal just makes him want to do it more.

the same phenomenon occurs with underage drinking...once you're 21 and it's legal to drink, drinking loses some of its appeal (or all of its appeal, in some cases).

after about a year of smoking i i got kinda obsessed with it to. i could tell when i started to talk about it that my friends were thinking here we go again, but after a while i moved on past that point, maybe he will to.

i think every toker goes through something like that at one point or another.
