I wish to grow outdoors. Insect, animals and water source have been a big issue. Has anyone ever grown in tree tops? This would seem to thwart the deer and rabbit population, and decrease the likelyhood of grubworm attack (as well as a million other ground bugs). Has anyone ever tried to use the tree itself as a water source? (ie. topping the tree trunk above predator or prey and suspending 5 gl bucket w/ planting soil and plant)?)
Cut a 3 " trunk, drill a 3" hole in the bottem of a 5 gallon bucket and perch the bucket atop tree trunk. What would you suggest as the best suitable tree to try this method? Pine? Oak? None?
Thanks, mutha may I
