What the hell is this?
i went on wikipedia because when i googled "2012 theory" i got complicated sites that were pretty lame.
On wikipedia, i looked up "2012" and when i went to the month december it listed "december 21" and had three dates.
* 21st - Marks the beginning of the Winter Solstice at 11:11 UTC. [4]
* 21st - End of the twelfth, final baktun in the long count of the Maya calendar and Aztec calendar.
* 21st - Striking planetary formation along the Ecliptic involving 7 planets, the Sun, and a new moon above the Giza pyramid complex (coordinates 29° 58' 33" N 31° 07' 49" E).[5]
What does the whole "2012" theory mean???OzzyOz Reviewed by OzzyOz on . 2012 theory> What the hell is this? i went on wikipedia because when i googled "2012 theory" i got complicated sites that were pretty lame. the aztecs predicted a lot of accurate astronomical events like eclipses and stuff. and they predicted the end of the world would be around dec.21, 2012. i guess it's something to consider but i think it's bull. if they could predict the end of the world why were they so easily influenced and conquered by the spaniards

I don't know, man... there is always the possibility that it could be true. I mean, the Mayans and the Egyptians were extremely good with astronomy and predicted alot of things this way... but then again it's all according to their culture. That has a wide influence on them... so it could be all bull, as well, you're right.

It's certainly no coincidence. Check out Terence McKenna's TimeWave Zero theory

The turn of the great cycle is conjectured to have been of great significance to the Maya, but does not necessarily mark the end of the world. According to the Popol Vuh, a sacred book of the Maya, they were living in the fourth world. The Popol Vuh describes the first three worlds that the gods failed in making and the creation of the successful fourth world where men were placed. The Maya believed that the fourth world would end in catastrophe and the fifth and final world would be created that would signal the end of mankind.
The last creation ended on a long count of 13.0.0.0.0. Another 13.0.0.0.0 will occur on 21 December 2012, and it has been discussed in many New Age articles and books that this will be the end of this creation or something else entirely. However, the Maya abbreviated their long counts to just the last five vigesimal places. There were an infinitely larger number of units that were usually not shown. When the larger units were shown (notably on a monument from Coba), it is expressed as 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.0.0.0.0, where the larger units are evidently supposed to be 13s in all larger places. In this age we are only approaching 0.0.0.0.0.0.13.0.0.0.0, and the larger places are nowhere near the 13s that would match the end of the last creation.
This is confirmed by a date from Palenque, which projects forward in time to 1.0.0.0.0.0, which will occur on 13 October, 4772. The Classic Period Maya obviously did not believe that the end of this age would occur in 2012. There will be a Baktun ending in 2012, a significant event being the end of a 400 year period, but not the end of the age.

I've heard that in 2012 (I'm pretty sure it was 2012) a crap load of the planets will align, which would cause some real natural disasters on earth. however I'm not putting my faith in the egyptians or mayans or whoever. mystical as they may seem, they don't have magical psychic powers and what now
. and what about this biblical crap that jesus was supposed to come back and give final judgment and all that in a thousand years? seems a tad bit late.
can I just call those who believe 2012 is judgment day an idiot when the date comes and nothing happens?
