In BIG Trouble ... Please help

Well I smoked today outside with my bong and I didn't think my house was a safe place to store my bong, I usually store it in my garage but my mom was roaming around so I said, fuck it, I'll put it in my car. I had to go out tonight and well to make a long story short, I took my bong out and a piece of glass broke.

Its the stem that actually goes from the bong into the water all the way to the bottom. Not the bowl/pipe, but the part that it goes into. I hope you guys know which piece I am talking about. I was wondering if anyone knew any place I could buy a replacement piece? good news and some bad news, I was able to buy a replacement piece for $5 bucks in the village but its too small... the diameter is right but it doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the bong. What do you guys think, should I buy a new piece that goes all the way to the bottom or just fill the water up more? lemme know, thanks

get some plastic tubing from home depot, and connect it to the end to extend it's length
