Fairly safe, I think. Drug dogs don't alert on xanax, and baggage inspectors are more interested in bombs than pills. If your only talking about a few, you should be fine, if they opened every bag that had a bottle of pills in it, and then tried to figure out if you have a prescription, they would do little else. If you are talking about a large amount, don't try it.
